Publication Story:
Wedding planner Kaloni Jensen, owner of Cherry Creek Events, brought to life Old World Egypt in this wedding styled shoot located in Swan Falls, Idaho. Utilizing the wild, desert terrain of southern Idaho’s natural landscapes, this bride and groom were able to step out of 21st century Idaho into 3,000 BC Egypt, surrounded by the sagebrush, sandy hills, and lush river valleys of the Snake River Canyon. A blend of history and modern wedding culture, and the exotic, far-away places of a destination wedding without the need of a passport — this styled shoot offered the best of both worlds, literally, by offering the small wedding party a chance to travel through time and place all within the comforts of home. Photographer Yelena Tsioma beautifully captured the ambience of the set, which displayed the rich, warm lighting of fall. Photos were taken during the Golden Hours of both morning and evening adding a naturally romantic, soft light to the images. The jewel-toned color pallet combined with the natural desert tones and textures offered guests, and most importantly the bride and groom, an opportunity to visualize Egypt around them. The hexagon arch and wire geo shapes for the table, as well as the layout of the ceremony and reception locations were set in geometric patterns — a touch of detail meant to honor the nearly 5,000-year-old concept of geometry used by ancient Egyptians. The added presence of the snake, Creamy, and Clyde the camel added to the adventure of this exotic theme. After all, it’s not every day you have a 7-foot snake and an 8-foot camel at a wedding photoshoot. The exotic animals offered a very unique element to this already dreamy wedding experience saturated in color, history, and the timelessness and individuality of love and romance. |

Publication Story:
Boise’s Leap Photography captured this Rustic Romance styled shoot held at the Seven Springs Guest Ranch in Emmett, Idaho; planned and designed by Cherry Creek Events in Emmett, in collaboration with Finishing Touches Weddings and Events in Kuna, and Diane Pugmire Events in Boise. Located in Gem County, Emmett’s lush agricultural landscape, rolling desert hills, and wild livestock ranchlands is truly a diamond in the rough for destination weddings in Southwestern Idaho. This 57 acre original homestead nestled in the foothills above Black Canyon Reservoir features stables, an indoor event hall, and an old west town setting that provided the perfect backdrop, making this wild west vision complete. Utilizing the natural landscape to pull out the color pallet and design textures, this collaborative team designed a wedding to highlight the classic elegance of country brides. Decorations included rustic textures such as wood, leather, and metal work, giving a fresh alternative to the common burlap trend. The design featured the elegance of lace and antiqued glass for a traditional staple. Floral blooms were gathered from local farms and markets adding to the authenticity of the style while supporting Idaho’s local small businesses. Photographer Brenda Leap of Leap Photography beautifully captured the natural ambience of the wedding set, which displayed the blend of tradition paired with modern wedding culture featured in rustic weddings of today. Rustic Romance captures the timelessness of love with all the contemporary comforts in a modern wedding. Modeled by Kimberly Ford, the form-fitting, mermaid silhouette ivory bridal gown was provided by Sarabeth Bridal in Downtown Boise and features a halter neckline, button detailing on the body and train, and adorned with lace covering the full gown length ending at the scalloped edge. The groom's suit was provided by Boise Tuxedo Shop. The venue’s bunnies and the presence of horses, brought in from local trainer Alishia Rae, made for a true western experience, adding to the replicated old west venue and landscape. Bride, Kim, even climbed the old watchtower to throw her bouquet into the town square and single ladies waiting below. |
