Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-Lee) is a Celtic (Irish and Scottish) social gathering or party with traditional music, dancing, and storytelling. Often including a dinner or cocktail-style refreshments.

Location: Willow Grove Event Center
There will be assigned seating for dinner to help us mix up and meet new people. If you are bringing a date, coming with a group, need seated near an exit, or need a wheelchair accessible seating location, please mark the ticket accordingly.

Groups of 8 in a single table reservation are sold for $18/each making the group price $144 for the private table reservation.

Dress Code: Best Dressed Casual
Dress to Impress- Like you're going on a date. Suggestion Men Attire:Nice jeans [aka-no large holes] with a nice button up shirt for men. Suggestion for Women: Nice Jeans [aka-no large holes] with a nice shirt or blouse for women [Please, No T-shirts]. A Spring dress or skirt is also appropriate attire for a Ceilidh. As Always, Kilts & Clan Wear are Welcome! |
What's for Dinner?
We will be having a 3 course catered meal. (Catering from The Kitchen Eatery & Back Roads Bakery) 1st Course[appetizer]: Traditional House Salad with Garden Vegetables. Salad Dressing options are a Homemade House Ranch and a Raspberry Vinaigrette (nonfat & sugar free). This will be served with a Roll on the side. 2nd Course[main]: Butter & Garlic Mashed Tatties (Potatoes), Corned Beef [Irish], Caramelized Ham [Scottish], Salted Garlic Green Beans, Candied Carrots & Peas. 3rd Course[desserts]: Scottish Raspberry Cranachan Trifle & Irish Chocolate Pots de Creme This Event is Alcohol Free for Liability purposes. Anyone found with alcoholic beverages will be asked to leave.

Music & Dancing at a Ceilidh- What to Expect?
Ceilidh's are Celtic, not American, so most music featured at a Ceilidh is not generally American, but is Irish or Scottish. That said, we understand that many of you are not familiar with our culture or music, so we will be taking requests for American music, but these spots are limited and will be played at the discretion of the DJ. What Kind of Dancing is at a Ceilidh?

Country Swing Dancing is very popular in Ireland & Scotland so many of the songs played will be able to be danced this style. Learn to Irish & Scottish Dance:
We will be dancing The Gay Gordon's, a traditional Scottish Ceilidh Dance, and The Siege of Ennis, a traditional Irish Ceilidh Dance. Both dances will be played at least 2-3x the night of the event. We will also be dancing the Virginia Reel as we are Americans and this dance is a classic! |
